Hamamelis: Anus feels sore and raw. Hemorrhoids, bleeding profusely, with soreness. It Acts upon the coats of the veins causing relaxation with consequent engorgement. Passive venous hemorrhages from any part. Great value in open, painful wounds, with weakness from loss of blood. It is used to relieve swelling, bleeding, itching, minor pain, and discomfort caused by minor skin irritations (e.g., cuts, scrapes, insect bites).

It is also used to relieve itching, discomfort, irritation, and burning caused by hemorrhoids.

Hamamelis virginiana, known as common or American witch-hazel is regarded as the aconite of veins and checks veneous congestions of every kind (vercositis), bad effects from bleeding , prostration etc. It acts upon the coats of the veins causing relaxation with consequent engorgement.
